Charities we support and appreciate
There are a lot of challenges that people face, each one unique to the circumstances of the individual. When you support a transparent and effective NGO charity, you support a project that strives to better the living situations of others. At La Fleur, we have found two charities that particularly touched our hearts. We want to share their goals with our community so that we all can make an impact.
Covenant House
“We are an agency that provides food, shelter, care, and other services to homeless and runaway youth.” (Covenant House) This nonprofit organization caught our attention as we believe every child should have a place to sleep. Covenant House also fights to protect children escaping human trafficking and advocates for vulnerable youth. This nonprofit organization helps put individuals on the path of independence. At La Fleur, we believe every child should have an equal opportunity. Aside from immediate relief, the covenant house also offers long-term support at crisis centers or with service teams. This organization creates a safe space for younger individuals and helps them feel like they made the right decision to ask for help. We like that the Covenant House is expanding and has multiple locations for children across six countries. Our posterity deserves a chance to show the world their talents, despite their past circumstances.

Shanti Bhavan
Shanti Bhavan children’s project is another organization we choose to support. As you know, our founder is originally from India, and finding a project that helped educate kids in her home country was something we felt we needed to support. This residential school is for children in the lowest socio economic classes of India and allows them the chance at higher education and uplifting themselves and their families out of poverty. We completely support this project’s goal of helping end generational poverty. The youth deserve to feel confident in their skills when they enter a workspace. This organization is raising money to build a second school to allow more individuals the opportunity for advanced education.
Irrespective of caste or creed every child deserves an education to be able to make his or her own future bright.

At La Fleur, we hope that our world is in good, educated hands. The state of our planet depends on it. We want to make a difference, no matter how big or small. November is #YouthHomelessnessAwarenessMonth, an opportunity to deepen our understanding of young, ambitious people who pass through homelessness on their way to building the life and career they want.
