GUILLOT for Men by LFBL

My Indian roots have always been a foundational part of my identity, steeped in vivid traditions and rich cultural heritage and I am 100% Indian at heart and proud to be. Growing up, I was surrounded by the mesmerizing scents of cardamom, sandalwood, and rose—aromas that evoke memories of family gatherings, festive celebrations, and the everyday rituals of home. These fragrances became an intrinsic part of my personal scent palette, shaping my preferences and perceptions from an early age. But I wanted to also embrace the French ancestry from my maternal side as I am not ashamed of that either.

With a French connection woven into my story, I found a natural bridge between two continents—each with its own olfactory legacy. The elegance and subtlety of French perfumery introduced me to delicate florals, citrus notes, and powdery accords, expanding my appreciation for scent as both an art form and a cultural expression. This fusion of Indian depth and French refinement is reflected in how I choose and experience fragrances today, blending tradition with modernity and personal history with global inspiration. My ancestry has not only influenced my scent preferences but has also given me a unique perspective on how two distinct worlds can harmoniously coexist through the language of fragrance and smell.  And with this intention in mind, I decided to introduce you to a new brand, Guillot after my maternal French ancestry with roots going back to France, most notably, Paris.

Indian perfumery focuses on raw ingredient sourcing and traditional, oil-based attars, while French perfumery excels in brand luxury, complex, alcohol-based, and layered scents. India provides foundational notes like sandalwood and jasmine, while France formalizes them into global luxury. Emerging brands are now blending these, using Indian ingredients with French techniques

Allow me to introduce you to Guillot for Men by LFBL. I hope you will discover these new inspirations by our newest perfumer, Josh Hays. He is young and talented with a passion for perfumes like me.

Founder & Perfumer

Josh approaches perfumery with a deliberate sense of contrast, composing fragrances that feel both effortlessly wearable and subtly subversive. His early fascination with scent was shaped through years of collecting and dissecting designer fragrances, developing a refined appreciation for structure, restraint, and the quiet power of composition. What began as curiosity evolved into a disciplined pursuit of craftsmanship and olfactory identity.

He works extensively with natural materials, favoring their inherent volatility, nuance, and imperfection. While demanding and often less predictable, naturals offer a depth and dimensionality synthetics rarely replicate, a full-bodied, ever-evolving architecture of scent that unfolds with time, air, and skin. This philosophy informs his approach: fragrances designed not as static impressions, but as living compositions.Profiles that feel instantly accessible; yet carry an unmistakable edge of individuality. Defined by restraint, texture, and intentional imbalance, his creations blend familiarity with provocation. Immediately wearable, yet singular in character.

“The way you smell is both an unspoken introduction to those around you, and an inherent part of your person that won’t go unnoticed by those who frequent your presence. To me, it is important to smell distinctively like you and not like everyone else.”
